She began her career with Northwestern Mutual in 2005 and spent twelve years as an Employee Benefit Specialist working with small to mid-sized employer groups. In 2017, Ashley moved to the carrier side as a Senior Sales Director for PreferredOne. Because of her experience in the consultant space, she knows the value of providing a customizable solution that is relevant, easy to use, and inclusive of all employees.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Wellbeats team, having seen firsthand the exponential growth and success they have had in the marketplace,” Ashley said. “Wellbeats is so highly regarded by partners and members alike and for good reason. I love that our mission is to help members live a healthier life and that we truly believe wellbeing isn’t just for some—it’s for all. The fact that we have content for all ages, interests, and ability levels AND that we are an affordable solution makes Wellbeats a best-in-class offering—and who doesn’t want to work for the best?!”

I’m thrilled to be joining the client success team to support Wellbeats’ partners and clients in improving the wellbeing of the populations they serve.”
Danie Maravelas joins Wellbeats as a Product Manager with over six years of experience working in health and wellness and over a decade working in IT. Her prior roles include positions with Self Esteem Brands, OptumServe, and Mayo Clinic. She works alongside a team of more than nineteen product owners, software engineers, and UX designers to deliver value to the hands of over 2.2 million users. Danie also leads the development of Wellbeats’ digital product strategy with a heavy focus on consumer insights research and analytics.

“Making the decision to come work with Wellbeats was an easy one. Holistic health and wellness is a key pillar of my life, and I owe so much to it,” Danie said. “I want to make that more accessible to as many people as possible because of the incredible positive impact it can have. There are not a lot of people in this world who get to say that they love what they do or that they are full-heartedly aligned with the mission, vision, and value that a company brings to the world, I am one of the fortunate ones.”
Mandy Hansen joins Wellbeats’ marketing team with over twelve years of communications experience, primarily working in college athletics and higher education. She spent the last eight years as the primary media liaison and lead publicist for select athletic teams at the University of Minnesota. Mandy also has honed her writing and editing skills as a freelance editor with Elite Editing. “I’m thrilled to join Wellbeats and work with this talented team,” Mandy said. “This unique opportunity allows me to challenge myself in a new environment while applying my experience, education, and skills in an industry I’m passionate about—health and fitness. I’m looking forward to supporting clients and positively impacting members on their wellness journeys. As a lifelong runner, I’m passionate about healthy living, and I truly believe in Wellbeats’ mission that wellbeing is for everyone.”

Most recently, Shirk spent nearly four years working at Sparkhound as Software Development Consultant II. Shirk was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
